POC2010 Pre-Conference Oil Palm Plantation Tour

Tour delegates will visit an oil palm plantation and a palm oil refinery on 8 March 2010 from 9am-4pm.
The visit will show delegates the various aspects of sustainable production of palm oil. Highlights include zero burning practices, legume cover crops, water management, integrated pest management, utilization of by-products, harvesting of fresh fruit bunches and processing harvests into crude palm oil (CPO).
In the refinery, participants will see the conversion of CPO into refined cooking oils and other products.
Participants are requested to meet at the Lower Lobby of Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur at 8.30am on 8 March for registration and departure at 9.00am.
Transportation will be provided.
POC2010 Annual Golf Challenge

The POC2010 Annual Golf Challenge will be held on Monday 8 March at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, one of Malaysia’s premier club and golf courses offering award-winning facilities and lush surroundings.
The Tropicana Golf & Country Resort's 27-hole championship golf course is known to be among the best in the country, with many golf enthusiasts regularly making this a key stop of their golfing itinerary.
Registration is at 6:45 am with lunch and presentation scheduled at 12:15 pm.
