The Oil Palm Biomass has emerged as a viable asset for the palm oil industry. Many years of R&D have made it possible to convert the oil palm biomass into economic products including MDF, Timber Board, Fertiliser and Paper, just to name a few. Lately, new technologies have been developed to generate biofuel and electricity from oil palm biomass. There are already commercial ventures which have exploited the oil palm biomass for business.
The first conference was successfully organized in August 2008 in Kuala Lumpur. In collaboration with Palm Oil Refinery Association and Palm Oil Crushing Mill Association of Thailand, the “2nd International Conference on Oil Palm Biomass (ICOPB II)” will be conducted in Bangkok.
